		<description>I think the main Windows XP administration tool is not mentioned here: Computer Management. It contains all the necessary things to monitor the computer performance. I understand that it&#039;s mainly included for professionals but ordinary folks can play with it too.

P.S. On Vista, Computer Management is much more comprehensive and substantial - nice one, Microsoft!</description>

Its too time consuming to manually run the task and scheduling it hasnt worked always. I have installed a tool that tackles fragmentation as it occurs by running in idle time. The auto defrag feature can also be turned off if required.</description>
