LogMeIn is another great Remote Desktop program, and you only have to install it on the remote computer. You can access your files securely from the internet. It also has an option for transferring files.

Yes, it would of course be best if we could do it with a cable, but modem cables won’t work. And I recommend you don’t try it with a normal USB cable, as your motherboard will probably overheat and get damaged.

There are special crossover cables for this, and I recommend getting an ethernet crossover cable if you really want to transfer files by cable. The difference is that crossover cables have the 1st and 3rd wire crossed and the 2nd and 6th.

Sad that we can’t do it with a phone or USB cable, but lets hope for future improvements from microsoft.
